Program Overview

The PGDE Secondary (Home Economics) at Queen Margaret University is a one-year program that prepares graduates to teach Home Economics in Scottish secondary schools. It provides students with the knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to teach practical food, nutrition, and textiles skills in a classroom context. The program is accredited by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), and graduates are eligible to register with the GTCS to teach anywhere in Scotland.
